About Us

Anglican’s History

Maseno School of Nursing is situated 1km off Kisumu – Busia Highway. It is located in Wehomo Location in Vihiga County. It is in close neighbourhood with Maseno School and Maseno University. The school is sponsored by the Anglican Church of Kenya Diocese of Maseno NorthThe overall management is under the Governing Board of Maseno Mission Hospital, while day to day activities are carried out by the Principal, Lecturers plus supportive staff.

The Maseno Mission School of Nursing (MSN)and health Sciences was founded in 1936 as Maseno Training School to train assistant Midwives in Kiswahili language. This was later phased out and replaced with enrolled Nursing course which went on for a considerable length of time.In 2006 the school embarked on the registered Community Health Nursing course. This was basically dictated by the evolving community health needs requiring nurses trained at diploma level.

Special Campus Tour

Maseno School of Nursing is fully accredited by the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK), the Association of Medical Records Officers of Kenya (AMROK), and the Ministry of Education. The institution is authorized to train students in Nursing as well as Health Records and Information Technology (HRIT) programs.
